Beit el Founoun - Huset for kunst

Beit el Founoun means " The House of Arts" and is located in the village of Maghdouche - in southern Lebanon, ten minutes from the Mediterranian sea.

The first floor of the house contains a bedroom, kitchen, living room and a bath. Downstairs, there will be studios for visual artists, a bedroom and a bathroom. On the roof top, there is a 89 square meter terrasse.

The history of the house goes hundred years back in time. It was a local bakery and it is built of local stones. The house is situated in the old part of the village with small narrow pitoresque streets.

Maghdouche

Maghdouche is a village on a hill top south of Saida in Southern Lebanon. Just 10 minutes from the Mediteranian Sea.
There is ca 8000 citizens in the village and it is famous for its olive oil, soap, grapes, orange flower water and the "Grotto" a cave where it is said that Virgin Mary used to wait for Jesus when he was visiting Sidon.

Maghdouche er en landsby på en ås syd for Saida ( Sidon) i Syd Libanon. 10 minutter fra Middelhavet. Det bor ca. 8000 mennesker i landsbyen som er kjent for olivenolje, såpe, druer, appelsinblomstvann...
I tillegg er byen kjent for sin pilgrimskirke "Grotto" hvor det sies at jomfru Maria ventet på Jesus når han var i Saida.
